Open Question: Any mechanics in the house?
I got a 2001 Mercury Grand Marquis I used in 2006. It had 113,000 miles when I bought it. I needed a used card and it was a good price. No problems with it at all, until recently about 3 weeks ago, I noticed it started jerking when I wanted to accelerate it, sort of hesitated and then gained acceleration. I thought nothing of it, until later that night after work I was driving and all of a sudden the red temperature light came on and the motor suddenly turned off and I had to turn on to a side. So I turn the key off and wait atleast 2 minutes and it started off again? The next night it did the exact same thing. I thought it was the radiator with no water, but it was fine and it has everything on it. I took it to a mechanic and he tested it with the machine they hook up to it and didn't find anything wrong with it? Not the Ford dealership a local mechanic. So it has been driving me crazy lately and I really don't know what it is, how much will it cost or if I will get to work anymore on time. Today I notied it was making an usual noise as I drove to town. The engine was louder than usual and the speedometer would occasionaly freeze, when I got home I put it in park and the engine started to rev up out of nowhere so I turned it off. Any of you guys deal with this before, or have an idea? I change the oil occasinally so I'm debating whether to sell it or keep it, any advice? The car now has 144,600 miles it that helps any. moreOpen Question: What Are Some Acting Scams that You've Encountered?
I'll start: 1. Exploretalent- Overcharges for castings that you can find for FREE ie Craigslist. They also steal breakdowns from legit sites like Actors Access and post it as their own. Most of what they steal are outdated and posted without the original poster's consent. 2. One Source Talent-Similar to Explore talent. They charge you $400 to have a digital comp card on their site with a $30 monthly fee. They tell you to use their photographer that charges at least another $500-800. The only CDs that they work with are reality show ones ie. MTV, VH1 3. John Robert Powers-It's a crappy franchise that banks on a famous and DEAD agent's name. They charge a ridiculous price and claim that many celebrities went through the school such as John Wayne, Lucille Ball, etc. NONE of them did! 4. John Casablancas-Crappy franchise like JRP. Dishonest business practices as well. 5. Keith Wolfe-Career consultant who charges $400 to hook you up with scammy agencies like Dedicated and Don Gerler(Doug Bennet). False promises. 6. Hollywood Company/Model One Casting-Charge up front fees for extra work that doesn't exist and management services. They claim that they're sister companies with Central Casting, a legit extras casting service. THEY AREN'T! 7. Infinitetalent-Same as OneSource 8. Actorsreps-Scammy agency. Mostly deal with extra work. 9. EAM Casting/Mediaentertainment1.com-Google "Bill Starkov" and you'll see that this company scammed a lot of people. 10. Dedicated-Originally Zanuck, Passon, and Pace, one of the scammiest agencies in L.A. When they were ZPP they would make their clients use their photographer and take their classes. They also made you get 10 character shots such as literally dressing up like a doctor, cop, construction worker, etc. You don't get character shots! Dedicated is still up to this scheme. 11. Michael Zanuck-Split from Dedicated in hopes of bettering his reputation, but still up to the same schemes. He at least makes you get 6 character shots instead of 10. 12. Doug Bennett of Don Gerler-He makes you get 15 character shots. Wastes your time with multiple 2 hour interviews, consisting of him mostly talking. If you thought the agent movie stereotype was phony, think again. 13. Sylvia Ferguson-Not state licensed. Charges $140 a year for this bogus casting service called E-Talent files. She entices potential clients into getting the service by saying it will help better their chances. 14. Talent6-Inferior casting site. 15. Barbizon-Popular school in the 70s. Now another JRP. 16. Kevyn Major Howard-Overcharges and underdelivers. Does a lot of things that agents/cds hate with regards to headshots. He's also known to hit on hot girls during photo shoots. 17. MMPRG- Scammy management company that charges 80/month up front for poor classes. 18. Model Management Inc-Upfront fees. Another ONESOURCE. 19. Talent Hunter-Another inferior casting site. They post "urgent" e-mails from supposed CDs wanting to audition you in their projects. In order to respond you would have to pay the Talent Hunter fee to leave reply messages on the site! 20. Actor's Club (they advertise fake breakdowns on other sites and then when you submit for the "project", they tell you to go to the "Actor's Club" site to fill out a profile. Only after you have done all that do they tell you about the fees. PRESTO they have your email and then they SPAM you forever to join their site. 21. Talent Jug- Like Explore Talent where it takes castings from other casting sites. They also mysteriously get your email and spam you. 22.ACT-Another JRP 23. Pinkerton Model And Talent-Not state licensed. Lynn Venturella Pinkerton has been known to be associated with various scams notably "Best New Talent" an over priced weekend seminar where you pay ridiculous amounts to audition, be judged, and possibly "be discovered." 24. Best New Talent-need I say more? 25. Instantcast.com-Another Explore Talent 26. Ambiance Talent in Chattanooga, TN- Make potential clients take their $700 class before signing with them 27. Alan Baltes-Charges money for inferior services that have inaccurate information. 28-Proscout-Another one of those overpriced seminars where you pay big bucks in hopes to get "discovered." The creators claim that Wilhelmina and Ford was involved with their creation, when they have made it clear that they are NOT involved with this. False promises galore! They also give your contact info to scammy schools like John Casablancas, JRP, etc. 29. Elen's Kids (elenskids.com)- There have been multiple reports of this "agency" charging upfront fees of $599, inferior headshot services, and false promises. Possibility of it being linked to Kids.com a company that was exposed on Dateline. 30. Kids.com/AdKids (Justourkids.com)-Exposed on Dateline moreResolved Question: My boyfriend is turning 16 in March, what should I get him?
He is a guy who likes football, hunting, fishing, and stuff like that. His parents are not helping him in any way with financing a truck. He has a Ford Bronco, it can run with simple adjustments, but its not in very good shape. I was thinking about getting a gift card for him to buy the things he needs to fix it up. What other suggestions do you have? Any 16 year old guys know something they would like? Any body already had to do this and know what to do or just have an awesome idea? I could really use it! Thanks! moreVoting Question: what used car/ loan?? student loan question??? PLEASE HELP ME!?
I am a college student who has always had a BMW but my dad got mad and me and is selling it. So i have to buy my own car. I only have about $2300 in saving and I really like ford escapes. I have found a few 2003 models for around $3,000-$4000 but I only have $2300 where can I get the other $1100 or so? could I take out a student loan and use that money for that? (i do not have any yet) I have had a credit card for 2 months and paid it off in FULL every month. Also is a ford escape a good car to buy-like cheap to fix & reliable? Thank you!!!! moreVoting Question: Will Bush Pardon all the Rapists before he leaves office?
As you probably know, the power of a US president to grant a full pardon to convicted criminals is not subject to review or reversal. It's truly a "get out of jail free" card. It's intended to right wrongs--to free those who have been falsely convicted. It's sometimes used to show compassion to prisoners who are guilty, but sentenced too harshly, or prisoners who are in poor health. It's been used to make political deals--Nixon was pardoned by Ford, after Ford was made President by Nixon's resignation. The last two administrations have cheapened it further, just by using it to keep friends and cronies from serving much-deserved prison terms. And now that awesome power is in the hands of the biggest doofus ever to serve in the Oval Office. AND he's a known practical jokester! It's also well-known that women OVERWHELMINGLY vote Democrat. So rumor has it that between now and Jan. 20th, George W. is going to pull the hugest practical joke of all--a joke on all American Women. He's going to pardon the rapists. All of them. They'll all be back on the streets, on the day Obama takes over. And there's nothing anybody can do to stop him. What do you think of this evil plan? moreResolved Question: Do i have to pay a mechanic who did not fix the car?
I bought a used car with a transmission warranty. When i brought the car home, it would not run until the engine was warm. I took it to a Ford mechanic, since it was a Ford car. they could not figure it out, but they did say the wrong oil filter was put in it, and the transmission was bad so i didn't think it was a good idea to take it to the mechanic i bought it from. but i ended up taking it there. They said they fixed it,i paid him and took it home to find out in the morning it wasn't fixed. So i took it back to him and fixed it again, and said a motor mount was bad and needed to be replaced soon. So about a month later i took it to him to fix the motor mount. i described that my car was jerky/jumpy/shaky and he said it was the motor mount and he would fix it, he asked if anything else was wrong, i said the brakes were loud. I called him later that day to see if it was done. He said yeah and ut cost $245 dollars. I went to pick it up and they said they fixed plug wires and put new front brake pads on it. the plug wires were $80, which i looked them up and they should of only been $30. He did not fix the motor mount because now it was not bad. Like it magically wasn't broken. So i paid with my credit card, i didn't sign the receipt or anything. The next day it was not fixed, actually it was worse. I had my father look at it and the spark plug gap on one cylinder was wrong, so he fixed that but it didn't fix the problem. We called the mechanic and he said he cannot do anything until friday because bit was the new year.when i took my car i told him i needed by friday because school starts the following monday. So now i have no car, no money to buy my books. Do i have to pay him, when he didnt fix my car and actually made it worse. i have paid over $700 to "fix" this car and only paid $2500 to buy it. moreResolved Question: In a fin. aid form, it asks about other educational loans..?

Happy Holidays!!!?
Hello, I have a 2001 Ford Windstar LX that I am trying to get better mpg out of. I am currently running Shell 93 octane V-Power and it is running great on it. Here are the things that I am planning to do as well: K&N Performance air filter, Bosh Premium wire set, fuel filter, PCV valve, Bosh-Iridium-Fusion spark plugs(as odd looking as they are expensive lol), and an oil change with Mobil 1 Extended Performance Oil and extended Performance Filter. Any other suggestions on what to do? I am currently getting 13 city, 20 highway using the v-power fuel and 15 on any other......oxygen sensors have been replaced recently. I have also put new tires on it and they are filled with nitrogen at 33psi. I understand that it may seem like alot of money and that I may be spending more on it than I will get back in fuel right away but I am also hoping to get a little more performance out of it as well. Also most of the money to pay for the upgrades is coming from christmas cards and relatives. Thanks to Everyone and Happy Holidays!!! moreResolved Question: my ford focus is making this really weird rattling noise when i press the gas?

The story of the bailout is all over the news. Our tax money is going to be used to prop up a business that is failing. Circuit City has declared bankruptcy, why isn't the government bailing them out? GM and Chrysler are big union shops. The union leadership overwhelmingly supported Obama's presidental bid. Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid are leading the charge to buy stock in these companies. My question is - Is the bailout money repayment for them helping get Obama elected? The big 3 auto makers only have themselves to blame for their problems. The UAW contracts and pensions are only a symptom, the real problem is that they manufacturer a poor quality product. I have been looking to purchase a new car, so I purchase the Consumer Reports used car buying guide. I purchase this book to see the repair history of a model that I am interested in. In 2003 the big 3 had 9 of 12 vehicles on the least satisfying score card and 0 on the most satisfying list. In 2005, the least satisfying list was dominated by GM and Chrysler and GM was the only US Automaker with 1 car on the most satisfied list. Not one foreign owned auto manufacturer was on 2005 least satisfied list. I bought a Honda CRV yesterday and no one had a bad thing to say about it in over 200 customer reviews. It was a consumer reports best buy. I almost bought a Mazda Tribute, but this was a Ford Escape dressed in Mazda clothing. Repair history and customer reviews were terrible on both vehicles. The Saturn Vue was given a so so review. Chevy Equinox was given a worse than average for repairs. So my view is let the big 3 go into bankruptcy, let them reorganize into a leaner and meaner manufacturing organization, let them get out of the oppressive union contracts, and keep the tax money in Washington. Thoughts? Sad to say it, but the union contracts were a prime reason why there is a problem. Sure management had their part as well. But the UAW is activily pursuing this bailout with congress and the management of these companies.Logan - I wanted to buy a american car, the repair history on them were terrible. I owned several american cars in the 1980's and 1990's, they were in the shop constantly. The Honda I purchased was built / assembled in Liberty Ohio. So are these not considered american jobs? GM uses many of the same suppliers that Honda and Toyota use here in the states. I am all for US Automanufacturing, but if they cannot build a product that is competitive and high quality. Then there is a problem that needs to be addressed. Maybe a reorganization is something that they need to learn a lesson.Bob H - if given the choice of feeding your family or not working. After 35, however, it sounds normal. -Plastic piece behind back left tire is bent up and under the body. (not obstructing anything though) I have already bought the correct parts. It looks like an attempt at a quick fix by the previous owner. Should I just take it to the mechanic and tell him to have at it? Thanks to all you car guys and girls out there who put your time and knowledge on Yahoo! Answers, or those who have had similar issues. I appreciate any and all responses. moreResolved Question: Dad is trying to get out of back child support with my mom... what are the legalities?
When I was 11 and my brother was 15, my parents finalized their divorce. At the time, my dad was working at American Airlines and making decent money. The court based his child support on his income there (though I still feel it was not enough, but that's not the issue). My mom was also awarded his pension in the divorce. My dad had always been an alcoholic (the reason for my mom kicking him out), and shortly after leaving our house, he began using crack cocaine. It became a huge addiction and he lost his job because of it about six months after the divorce. He never took the time to go to the court to let them know that his income had changed, so they kept him at the rate they had given him while he was with American Airlines. He did not pay child support for a long time. He has paid about $32,000 in total, and still officially owes about $43,000 in back child support. Has has recovered from his addiction and remarried, and has been paying my mom about $200 per month for the back child support. My mom just received a letter from an attorney my dad hired. He is not suing her or taking official legal action, but the letter asked that she consider giving him back his pension and calling it even on the child support. Basically, my dad is saying that he was not making the kind of money he was when the child support amount was ordered, so he should not have to pay what he still owes. He made an itemized list of all the child support payments he's ever made, but he included things that were taken as gifts to me and my brother at the time, such as helping me with a semester of college tuition, helping me pay to fix my car, etc. There's more to the story, though. He got an apartment after my mom kicked him out. When he made his security deposit, my parents were not officially divorced yet, so he used a credit card that was in both of their names. When the DID get divorced, he was supposed to be held accountable for their credit cards and half of my brother's and my medical bills, and he never paid either. When he got evicted from the apartment, the four months' past rent and security deposit were charged to the credit card. My mom ended up paying for it because she didn't want her credit to be ruined. The apartment complex also sent a collection agency after him. Their car, which was awarded to my mom in the divorce was still in both of their names according to Ford, so the car ended up being impounded. My mom had to pay $2,500 to get it out of impound because it was the only car we had. My mom could have easily put him in jail for nonpayment of child support many times. He also broke into our house on a few occasions to take money to support his drug habit. We have no proof of this, but we found money missing (including from my piggy bank, when I was 12), and our neighbor told us that she had seen him coming in the window while we were gone. My mom never took any action because she didn't want to put me and my brother through more trauma than we'd already been through. I've already called him and told him that he is no longer invited to my wedding (I am now 22, my brother 26) and that I will no longer speak to him if he tries to take legal action against my mother for this crap. My mom paid for our house, a car, school supplies, the credit cards and medical bills HE was supposed to pay for, our sports equipment, food, Christmases and birthdays, EVERYTHING. But that's beside the point. My question is this: does he have any ground to stand on here? Will the court see that his income changed and be able to let the rest of his back child support slide, or will they say that it's too bad and that it's his own fault for being too cracked out and lazy to come to court and tell them of his change of income? My mom doesn't know what to do and cannot afford to hire a lawyer. She is in deep debt because of all the things my dad never paid for. I just want to at least have an idea of what he has the right to do, and what she can do to counteract any kind of crap he might try to pull. Help! Thank you so much to anyone who can give us advice. moreResolved Question: Do these people deserve to be thrown in jail more than ACORN?
1) Sheriff Gene Fischer has requested registration cards and address forms for all Greene County residents who voted in a special session established in Ohio allowing new voters to register and vote on the same day. The process was challenged in court by the GOP. The Ohio Supreme Court turned down that challenge, and allowed the same-day voting to proceed. love telling new but here something i don't want to post it is concerning mostly at my school in Michigan any here i wan you to know mostly since halloween is coming Danger in disguise: candy-flavor drugs Strawberry meth hasn't hit locally in a big way, but police are on lookout What if someone had the brilliant notion to make "the world's most dangerous drug" sweet tasting by adding candy flavors and making it look like Pop Rocks? Well, someone did and it might be catching on. As a father of a fifth grader, I was naturally concerned when I heard about the newest form of methamphetamine, known as "candy-meth." An e-mail has been circulating on the Web, alleging that candy-flavored meth is being passed out to kids at elementary schools. To verify evidence to support the claims in the e-mail go to Snopes.com . (see link http://www.snopes.com/horrors/drugs/candymeth.asp), Candy meth is a potential threat to anyone tricked into thinking that it’s not harmful. Parents need to be informed on what kind of drugs are out there. Furthermore, parents need to talk to their children about the present dangers of drugs. Here are the basic facts that exist regarding candy-flavored meth: - candy meth is most commonly flavored with strawberry and is known on the street as "Strawberry Quick." - other flavors may include chocolate, peanut butter, cola, cherry, grape, and orange - tell your children to never accept candy from strangers, or even friends if received from someone else -meth is especially dangerous for kids, with symptoms of anxiety, paranoia, and increased heart rate I am sure we can expect it in the future as trends tend to move through the larger cities," said Deputy Chief Julian Bernal, head of Dallas' narcotics division. The Drug Enforcement Administration's Dallas office has not encountered the drug, but local agents are on the lookout, said spokeswoman Terri K. Wyatt. "These are evil drug dealers who are marketing to kids," Special Agent Wyatt said. Local bust At 2 a.m. Tuesday, a Lake Worth officer spotted a man sleeping inside a Pontiac Firebird parked at a Sonic restaurant on State Highway 199. When police searched Ronnie N. Smith's car, they found more than 400 grams of strawberry meth in two large plastic bags, in addition to various prescription drugs, several stolen credit cards and driver's licenses and about $1,800 in cash. The pink crystals in the large bags tested positive for meth, said Lake Worth police Capt. Dave Tatsak. While officers weren't inclined to give the stuff a taste test – doing so would be illegal – it "definitely smelled like strawberry," he said. Mr. Smith, 45, of Jacksboro, was arrested on drug possession charges and was being held in lieu of $50,000 bail. He requested an attorney and refused to talk to investigators, leaving them with no idea where he got the Strawberry Quick or what his intentions with it were. On April 11, a Fort Worth police officer found the drug during a traffic stop. About 5 p.m., the officer pulled over a Ford Explorer on a traffic violation in the 2300 block of Ridgmar Plaza and found a 20-year-old man in possession of some prescription Tylenol for which he had no prescription. On the way to jail, the officer saw that the man was squirming, and once at the jail, the officer looked under the back seat and found a cigarette wrapper. It contained about a gram of "pink-colored, crystal-like substance believed to be methamphetamines," also known as Strawberry Quick, the officer wrote in the report. "Depending on what the manufacturers use to cut the meth down, it can have various coloration, including pink," said Lt. Dean Sullivan, a Fort Worth police spokesman. "But our officers watch the TV news, too, so the catch phrase 'Strawberry Quick' did appear in at least one report." He said he knew of no other accounts of the drug in Fort Worth. About a dozen other local police agencies contacted said they had not come across the drug. Growing concern Concern over strawberry meth spiked nationally in February, when the Nevada Department of Public Safety's special investigations unit issued a police bulletin alerting law enforcement colleagues that the Carson City Sheriff's Department had seized some of the substance in late January. The bulletin noted that the drug first turned up in Sacramento, Calif., where dealers were cooking meth with strawberry-flavored drink mix to cut down on the drug's bitter taste when snorted. "If meth is cut with something after it is cooked, it loses its potency," said Special Agent Wyatt in Dallas. "With this, it's cooked into it. It's not diluted. It retains its potency." Arkansas police also have reported finding strawberry meth, and the DEA in Washington, D.C., reports that a similar pinkish-red crystalline drug has turned up in Washington state, Idaho, New Mexico, Missouri and Minnesota. Two weeks ago, the rise in reports prompted Se moreResolved Question: Is it time to bite the bullet and realize that we are NOW in a Depression? Can we survive this?
It's a complex issue and goes back through SEVERAL presidents and several Senates and Congresses. You can see ripples coming through from Reagan, Daddy Bush, Clinton, and Baby Bush. There was too much greed in the housing and stock markets. There was no oversight and people who received loans on their houses in the last 4 years should have been counseled and WARNED NOT to get a variable rate loan but the banks were under pressure from Wall Street to WRITE WRITE WRITE more loans and give Wall Street a much desired commodity on which they could make their commission portfolios rise. Don't forget about BEHIND the scenes as well. The CFR, the Fed, our leading economists, the "London Loophole", the Ruling Families, Bernanke, Paulson, and President Bush. EVERYONE had a part in this. On September 24, Bernanke started pulling OUT $225 billion dollars from the banking market, in a direct effort to cause a tightening of funds and create a panic that would FORCE Congress to pass the bail out plan and respond to President Bush's demands that Congress be forced to their knees if necessary to get this bailout passed. I realize the bail out is important and that it will cause a strangling effect on credit cards, home loans, and the economy if it is NOT passed but perhaps it's better to take our lumps NOW and get this Depression OVER as quickly as possible. Even CHINA is pushing to get this bailout passed but it is to preserve THEIR investment more than it is a fear for our economy. What we need to do is tighten our belts. The war must be stopped NOW and efforts must be made on the part of the govt to curtail ALL spending until they can balance the budget for this year. THAT will be a START! NO MORE MONEY for foreign countries ... no more money to Georgia ... no more money for ANYTHING! Bush saw the writing on the wall when everyone was SCREAMING to lower the gas prices. Had the govt made efforts to AT LEAST do THAT then the economy would have improved, the market would hold steady, food prices would have stayed firm, inflation would have been brought into check, and things would have still been tight but it would have been manageable. Bush has relied on his bullying tactics for too long. IT'S OVER MR. BUSH! You have broken the treasury. There is NO MORE MONEY FOR YOU TO STEAL! The cash cow has been drained. The Fed needs to restrict the banks. And SOMEONE needs to speak with the Rothschild family in London and get them to EASE OFF! This CRISIS, as they call it, is being MANIPULATED by the Rothschild Family just as they manipulated France during the French Revolution. Once the PEOPLE recognize that and focus on letting the MANIPULATORS know that there is NOTHING left to manipulate perhaps we can begin to work on this problem. THE USA needs to have a SUPER CLEARANCE SALE! JET AIRCRAFT ...HALF PRICE! We need to show the world that we CAN produce goods at really GOOD prices! We need to start drilling out OWN oil fields and supply the market at prices HALF of what the World market is right now. Our auto companies need to SCRAP the gas guzzlers and IMMEDIATELY start making the ELECTRIC cars and hybrids. How is it that APTERA, a SMALL auto company in Carlsbad, CA can make a car that gets 300 MPG and costs under $30,000 and yet Ford, Chrysler, and GM cannot! That is ABSURD! The Tata from India gets 50 + mpg and costs $2,500. Bush wants to waste the environment and scrub all the health laws that have taken 50 years to get into place ... why not allow the Tata to be imported to the USA and sold for under $5,000 with SOME of the Federal Safety Standards but NOT all! Remember when it used to cost $2,700 to buy a new Mustang? Remember when a Corvette was $3,500? Remember when an AC Bristol Cobra with 425 horses that got 8 mpg cost $4,000 but gas was 25c/gallon? Those days are NOT gone ... they have just been shelved. WE CAN GO BACK TO THAT ! WE have the resources ... we have the factories ... we have the skills ... but we ALL need to work together. Don't buy gas unless you NEED to and then only buy enough to last for a few days. If we STOP buying fuel the prices will come down. Start buying your food at the 99c store and Food 4 Less and Save-a-lot, and Smart & Final and buy the necessities, canned food, stuff that will LAST for a YEAR OR TWO. START TO HOARD FOOD NOW! If you have any relatives who went thru the depression ask THEM what to do! THEY KNOW ... they've been through it! Instead of buying bottled water for 99c/gallon go to the Geyser Water Machines and buy it for 20c/gallon. When you drive your car use it ONCE a week and do ALL your errands on the same day and PLAN your route on Google so that you can make it as efficient as possible. Conserve, conserve, conserve. And above all PRAY your hearts out ... not at Church ... but every DAY at HOME. WAKE UP Praying to God ... pray to Him at lunch ... pray to Him at dinner ... THANK HIM FOR everything you have and that your family is safe and that life cMy question here is: Do you people agree with me or am I just going rapidly insane here? Does anyone else see what is going on with our govt and the ruling elite and the foreign families such as the Rothschild Family, or am I being sucked in by the conspirationalists? That video above states that the TRUTH is in the Conspiracies that are being spread around? Is that propaganda to support their own issues or is it REALLY the Truth? Sorry for dumping this in the Philosophy dept but a friend suggested it and said that you guys have the finest minds on stuff like this. I was tempted to dump it in the Religion dept since I like their minds too but I have never heard from YOU guys yet and I'm curious. I know this is REALLY long but I didn't know how else to word it briefly without loosing the impetus. This took a LOT of effort so PLEASE don't violate it or report it for whatever reason and I promise I'll come in here more often and join in on YOUR discussions. Thanks :-) moreResolved Question: If I gave you all the following would you vote for me, Dartagnon Puissant, as President of the USA?
OK ... here's the deal. WE have NO good choices for President so much as I think the pay is too cheap and the President has to put up with a lot of guff (they START with dark hair and a smile and by the time they leave they have grey hair and an attitude) I will make the sacrifice for you miscreants, even though my record sucks and I'm just a tad anti-govt, but that's a good quality in a President, isn't it? Here's the deal! I will FIRE the House and Senate and put in computers. You can go online at home or the library or at Starbucks and tell your computer representative what you want and the computer will analyze it and see what is reasonable and then draft a bill and present it to the House of Computer Representatives and the Senate of Computers and it will pass ... or not. NEXT, I will ENFORCE the 16th Amendment and make the corporations be responsible for ALL The taxes as our forefathers, or whoever wrote the 16th Amendment, meant and the American citizens will NOT have to pay income tax. NEXT, I will make GM, Chrysler, and Ford make at LEAST 50% of their cars run on electricity and they will NOT need to be charged since they will use solar panel skins, energy creating brakes, and all the cool energy producing devices known to man to help power them forever. I'll make sure that the cars will run for 50 years so that there will be no maintenance other than regular services but you might have to take out a 50 year loan to pay for them since we want to keep the car companies in business. NEXT, I will pass a bill, with the help of my computer buddies in the House and Senate that will offer solar panels to EVERY American Household and the Power companies will be in charge of regulating how much energy comes INTO the grid and disperse it accordingly to keep a BALANCE of energy throughout the country. Eventually, within 10 years, I will phase out gasoline burning cars and houses will no longer run on oil and Exxon will have to come up with some other skam to make outrageous profits. Actually they can sell the oil to the tire manufacturers until we ban tires and use fans to propel our cars. NEXT, we will erect a BIG WALL OF the USA that will be BIGGER than China's. And I will make FDR's road projects look like nothing in comparison. Everyone who is out of work will be able to work on the GREAT WALL of FREEDOM and when it's done we'll put our military on top of it to patrol the borders and keep EVERYONE out unless they pay at least $20,000 for a Green Card. NEXT, to take care of the National Debt I'll make marijuana LEGAL but only when purchased from the Post Office vending machines or those in the IRS buildings. The profits will go toward the National Debt. ALSO, prostitution will be regulated and kept totally clean and safe and LEGAL and ALL profits will go toward the National Debt and you will be able to call the Post Office, Pimping Division, to make appointments. Your wife will never need to suspect you UNLESS she sees a postal truck in front of your house at night. NEXT, gambling will be LEGAL in all 50 States and will either be run by the Indians or the Mafia but all proceeds will go to the government and the profits will once again go toward the National Debt. Next, the taxes from the corporations will NO LONGER be used for War since we will make peace with the world and we will not ALLOW bad people to come into the country. The wall will keep the world's miscreants out and OUR miscreants in so there won't be any trouble for anyone in or out of our country. With NO govt corruption we won't need the MIF or IMF or IFM and we'll make the govt in charge of interstate roads, and perhaps ALL roads, and bridges, and National Parks, and parks in general. Then, I'll declare all LAWS Illegal and we will have only ONE law and that will be "Harm ye NO ONE!" The first offense will be punishable by paying the person back for harming them financially, or if you harm someone physically they will be able to do the same thing back to you or we will have the option of letting the person CHOOSE to put the offender into the old classic, STOCKS! And they will be ridiculed publicly. EVERYONE who does not break THE Law will get a REWARD at the end of the year for Christmas. The ones who do break the law get NO Christmas bonus for them! We will let the world know to LEAVE US ALONE! Anyone who attacks us in any way will be ruthlessly attacked, AND PILLAGED, by us, and our troops from the GREAT WALL OF FREEDOM. We will devastate their country and take EVERYTHING of value and their women will be put to work in our Post Offices. I like to think that NO ONE will ever attack us again but if so ... THEY WERE WARNED! Unlike Bush though we will enter their country and RAZE it one foot at a time until the whole country is destroyed and then we will pour salt on what is left. The people will be escorted out before we destroy the country and their women will be shipped off to our Post Offices.Yahoo cut off the rest of it but I think that basically covers everything but if you can think of anything I missed please notify your local Senatebot or Congressbot. Oh yeah, I also want $1 million / year. That way I won't be tempted to take bribes. But you won't be paying taxes and our National Debt should be paid off totally in 20 years, especially if I authorize the placement of Viagra in the water supply. That SHOULD be IT! Vote for Dartagnon Puissant, U.S. President, and don't worry about my record. IT's minor compared to the ones in our govt now and I wouldn't want to be sentenced to a Postal Penal Colony or hard labor in the Marijuana Fields and THE law will apply to me as it does to everyone else, so help me God. I AM Dartagnon Puissant and I APPROVE this message!TOUGH CROWD! But how can you JUDGE me if YOU don't READ my PROPOSAL. I mean, it sounds really GOOD to me. What more could you guys want? Free massages? Come on, GIVE PEACE A CHANCE! moreResolved Question: Need Help!! Any 'credit' and 'repoman' experts out there?
Man, I'm sick and tired of being way back behind in bills,.. nothing but bills up in here. I have always maintained my credit decent and always paid everything "on-time". Well, to get straight into my problem, I have a Ford Expedition that uses about $380 in gas per month. My loan is $330/month on it and I owe around $16,000. If I sell it or trade it in, the negative equity will be around $7,000. OUCH!!! on top of that, the A/C is not working, The Spark Plugs need to be changed, The breaks need to be changed, The transmission fluid needs to be changed,.. oh God my head hurts already. And on top of that I have a few credit card bills floating over my head that were due LAST MONTH. I was just thinking, maybe just let the repoman take my car out of my hands? .... I bet that it will hurt my credit like crazy. But damn, I need to get back on my feet FINANCIALLY and be able to have a piece of mind every month... I rather buy me a $1000 Civic or something until everything gets better. God damn economy. My questions are.... Is this a smart move? Anybody with repo and credit experience,.. how long till your credit went back up? Is there any faster way in repairing your credit? How much was your credit points lowered? Will the car loan bill simply go away? What will happen after the repoman takes it? Maybe I still owe the difference after they Auction it?? I just hope not to get any "You have to go to court" letters and pay more in fees and lawyers and such lol. I'm kind of mad about something. Last night on the way home from work, my mom said we needed gas (we were in her car). We stopped, and I used a credit card...I think it was about $24 worth or something like that. I closed the transaction by hitting ''no' on the gas pump screen when prompted whether I wanted a receipt or not. Because I check stuff online and usually never get a receipt. Well, I checked the still-pending charge today (the next day)...and it says $65.00. How could this have happened? My mom has a Ford Escort ZX2...it already had a quarter of a tank of gas or a little more, when we stopped for a fill-up. It holds about $45 max, I'd say. Definitely not $65.00 by any means, and my charge was not an 'even' number. It was something like $24.52. I plan on calling my credit card company tomorrow and addressing this, to see if I can get the entire transaction or even just the part I didn't get voided off from my credit card. It's the only transaction on there...I just got the card several months ago. Could the workers at the store have charged me extra somehow, even after I closed the sale at the pump? I know that they have some admin control over the pumps, prices, etc. Suggestions/comments? I think I'm going to request a new card/account number for that particular credit card, just in case...when I call to try to get this transaction dealt with and reversed, if possible. It's a Bank of America American Express Accelerated Rewards credit card.Note: We've gone to this same gas station up the street for years, and I have never had this problem of a different 'temporary' amount being charged and changed to the actual amount later on. Even with credit cards...it has always been the same amount charged on the card as I saw on the pump, with no waiting time. moreResolved Question: Colton Ford - where can I download the dance version of "My heart won't let go".

Why didn't Jaime Perez stop & render help to a 5 yo child he hit was his IMMIGRATION status more important then the life of a 5 yo child ? Where is all this compassion supporters of illegals demand of America but why didn't Jaime Perez provide such compassion ? MEMPHIS, TN - Tate County officials say a man was drunk when he hit a small boy with his SUV and drove away. Jaime Perez, 35, is charged with DUI, leaving the scene of an accident and driving without a license. Investigators also believe Perez is an illegal immigrant. He is accused of hitting 5 year-old Frank Brooks on County Line Road in Tate County. The boy's parents talked only to Eyewitness News Everywhere about the accident they say happened just a few feet away from the family's home. "He was a happy, smiling kid. They would call him 'Frankie Blue Eyes,'" said Frank's mother, Frankie. "My brother and I... we had our sons a day apart. It's really hard. I loved him like my own," said Frank's uncle, Mike Brooks. Family members say Frank was an angel, who was loving and full of energy. He was killed on Saturday, May 24, 2008, right in front of his brother and sister. The day before he was hit, the family says it rained and Frank wanted to play in the mud with his brother and sister. Family members say Frank walked to the side of the road to pick up his sister's shoe, and that is when he was hit. "He had blood coming out of his ears, his eyes were still open," said Frankie. "He didn't have time to blink or hurt. It was over that fast." Eyewitnesses say after Frank was hit, the driver went racing down the street in his Ford Excursion. Police say he lost control of the SUV and veered off the road. "Someone had said there were beer bottles in his vehicle. He didn't say a word to anyone," said Frankie. Frankie said her son was not breathing and died in her arms on the side of the road. While federal immigration officials try to decide if Perez will be deported, Frank's family is left to deal with the grief. "We'll never have another birthday for him or holiday," said uncle Mike. "It's tough knowing he's missing out on all these things. I loved him very much. I'll always love him every day that goes by." According to the Tate County Sheriff, Perez is being held without bond. Officials say Perez had a Tennessee identification card, but say he had Mexican documents with him as well, plus some questionable social security cards. http://www.myeyewitnessnews.com/mos... Isn't an illegal taking just one America life, one to many ?Now according to this story this guy may not even get deported and Perez might even be sent to SF put in one of those famous unlocked rehab group homes.Tell me with Mexicans having such strong family values, shouldn't it of come natural for Perez to stop ?What about all those beer bottles in the Perez car ?You guys always side track the story so Perez can walk free and blame somebody else..angel_lo... where do you see Mexican in this story ? moreVoting Question: Play Station 2 Price?
I'm going to sell a used Play Station 2 at a flea market. I need to know what would be a good price to mark it. It is the early model, so it is the larger console. It works great, but there is no memory card and it has an off brand controller. How much would be a reasonable price for it? ALSO: I am selling Ford Racing 2 and 3. What would be a good price for those? moreResolved Question: Typical Democrat....?
On my lunch break, we were watching People's Court. A plantiff was suing a used car dealer that she had bought a car from. She kept mentioning that she was 36, a single mother, and had 5 kids, and was on "state assistance". Her car (1700 dollars) was sold as-is, with no warranty, and was over 7 years old, so was not protected by lemon laws. The van began to have troubles, so the owner told her to bring it in. He had his mechanic try and fix it SEVERAL times, and then offered her one of three new vans - one didn't have leather, one was a Ford, and one didn't have a power drivers side rear sliding door... Long story short, she tried to play the victim card, that this man was "taking advantage of the fact she is a woman who doesn't know about cars", despite the fact he went WAY above and beyond. I couldn't help but think to myself "there's a democrat voter" - a woman who blames everyone else, keeps having kids out of wedlock, and takes advantage (or tries to) of the system+others. She didn't "like Ford products", so that's why the Ford didn't work as a prospective replacement. Also, her van (bought with my tax dollars and yours) just HAD to have leather, otherwise it was unacceptable. This woman was the perfect example of the flawed welfare system.Shygirl, do you think the odds are she identifies more with Dems or Republicans? People like her are the bleeding heart socialist/democrats base.Haha, I'm not even a Republican. I am simply pointing out that Democratic politicians tend to support more social programs that someone like her leech, errr, live off of. P.S. I'm a Libertarian... what do you wanna bet that she wasn't? Funny you all condemn me for assuming her party (based on very strong evidence), and you all did the same to me. Hypocrites!I like the sad responses so far. Is it not true that Democrats have been talking about "evil predatory lenders", and bailing out irresponsible people who bought more house than they could afford? Are democrats generally not more in support of welfare than republicans or libertarians? Are Democrats not the party that talks about socializing industry and that we need to work on "shared responsibility and prosperity"? You have to be truly ignorant and blinded by rhetoric to believe that Republicans, moreso than Dems, don't believe in personal responsibility. moreResolved Question: 2006 GMC Yukon Denali - Security feature? Or something else?
I just bought a used 2006 GMC Yukon Denali and I noticed that there is a black plastic electronic card input gizmo (about 3 inches wide) underneath the steering wheel area. The gizmo is illuminated by a red light. It has the letters VTP on it. What is that? I realize that some older chevys (or is it fords) that use to have a security chip that must be inserted first before starting the car. There is no chip however.By the way, nothing about it on the owners manual, GMC website or tech forms, or Yahoo search. moreResolved Question: Does this seem right to you?
My mom has this beat up 1978 Ford F250 pickup truck. It runs but needs work to make it more fuel efficiant. It's brown and tan, orange roof lights, ladder rack, tool box, came standard with a CB radio. Pretty ugly. It's just been sitting there for like 7 years. She's said she's gonna fix it up so I can drive it. Ha! It gets like 10 miles a gallon and is very dorky looking so I said "Why don't you just sell it and use the money you get to but me a different, more fuel efficiant used car?" I know she's not going to get much for the truck. She said "What a great idea!" and said she'd do it. But now, only 2 weeks later, she says she's still going to sell it, but she wants to use a THOUSAND dollars in profits to help pay off credit cards and use the REST for my car. Ha! She's not going to get a thousand, let alone enough for another car after her "cut". She was just going to let it sit there if it wasn't for my idea! Is that messed up or what? What should I do or say???I mean "to buy me" not but me lol moreResolved Question: What is the best way to finance a car? (options given?)?
Okay so I'm an 18 going on to 19 this July. I have decent credit I think, I paid most of my bills on time (electricity, power, etc) and I use a credit card now with a student limit of 500$ but pay everything and all the amounts on time before they are due. Okay so I'm starting a job (min wage, but still, it's a job) like in July and plan to continue with it hopefully until....at least December. I asked for an undergrad loan from Citi and they gave me one with 4.5% interest, which I think is very good and decent for a student, with at least a year to pay it back. It was for 10,000 dollars. I'm not sure how often they'll be giving me the money & the details because I haven't signed it but that's the first detail I wanted to mention. Secondly, all I want is a Ford Escape, preferably a hybrid (I always wanted a hybrid, even before the gas crisis), but it seems that even used cars are selling for 20k if I'm lucky. So ... Should I go to a dealer when I start my job and opt for a new car and do monthly payments? Will they allow someone so young to do that? Secondly, if the above option is a no, then can I take the 10k I will get from Citi and invest it in a car? Even a used car will be okay with me, just really really need my own car. Thanks for any help and insights I didn't see. moreResolved Question: agian another useless fact?

I plan to start working by this june as a pharm tech. part time, while in school, and i want to try to get a car by january of 09, to build up some work time. as far as my credit i just paid the charge-offs on my credit report and the charge-offs on my report were not on there for even 7 months, and i have paid off a finance loan, which was in good standing, i plan to get a secured credit card, in about 2 months, to rebuild my credit a little, and maybe get a small loan from by bank, and use that money to pay it back. So if i do this, will i be able to get financing for a car, or do i need to work at least a full year, or do i need to build my credit up more, i don't want anything expensive, just something reliable, like a ford focus or toyota corolla moreResolved Question: credit cards and buying a car.?
am i able to get a credit card with low interest rate and low annual fees and use that card to buy my $2,500 ford focus and just pay back the credit card people? because alot of these places that everyone is telling me to apply at is required a $1500+ of gross monthly income and i dont make that. and my parents wont loan the money i have done asked...so like im in a strut! moreResolved Question: Sue ex-boyfriend?
My friend (no, really) has a stupid ex-boyfriend that she was able to get a stalking order against. I told her to take him to court for all the money trouble that he left her with, and now I just want to get some public input. She played the game really dumb, so the mess is now REALLY bad.. The messes: -Ford Expedition repo'd (both their names) -He took her BMW after Exp was repo'd (both their names) -Spent her 401k on his legal fees for old stuff -$10,000 in credit card debt (her mom's card, but mom can verify that it was used for them both) -$2000 damages, etc. for the house they were renting (her name) -Lawyer costs for stalking case -$5000 for rims for the Exp that he magically put in her name (without her knowing) -Traffic tickets he got while driving the BMW after he took it from her possession (can prove that she didn't have it) -DMV license reinstatement fee because she failed to appear re. the traffic tickets (never received notice) I really want to help her clear it all up. moreResolved Question: New Car Loan with only 6 months in a job?
My son wants to get a new truck but without a co signer. He is19 and a full time student (no loans) who has had a steady job for 6 months and has about $5K to put down as a payment. He is looking to get a Ford truck that is about $22k. He just got a letter and his credit score is 767. But I told him that its not only his score that matters since that is only a reflection of 1 creditor. He has done really well with that card with using it and paying it off every month. He has alreaday had 3 increases to a max of $1100. He has his own checking and savings acccounts as well and could manage a $300-$400 payment before insurance. Thoughts on what they might tell him? What type of interest rate? I don't want them to pull credit until he is ready. THANKS! moreResolved Question: Can my boyfriend put a car in his name if we want to switch owners?
I went to buy a 2006 Ford Escape two years ago and I didn't qualify (I think because I had a credit card I hadn't paid off). My boyfriend co-signed the loan and everything has been working fine with that. He basically has nothing to do with the car other than the fact that it's in his name. I have been using my personal checks to pay for each monthly payment. So.... since then I have brought my credit back up to where it needs to be and feel pretty confident that it would not be an issue getting credit because at this point my credit is better than my bf's. The ultimate question I am asking here is how hard is it to switch the loan from his name to my name? Is this possible since my credit is better and I have been paying off the car with my checks every month? It would be nice to get the car out of his name and into mine. I want him to be able to purchase his own car if he wants AND start gaining this positive credit towards myself because I am the one paying it off afterall.Sorry that is a little confusing. He didn't co-sign. He's the owner. moreResolved Question: Car question?

ok I am 24 and I rent apartment. I make $47500 a year. Here is my current financial status of how much I owe on credit cards / loans: Dell (no interest till 09) - $1000 Visa - $223.96 Tower Federal (school loan 10% APR) - $3703.43 Room Store (no interest till 09) - $2345.87 Sallie Mae (school loan) - $1151.07 Ford Motor - $20,000 (my car).. I'll just keep making payments, not looking to pay this off. OK, I want to be debt free completely except for that Ford Motor company before I buy my house. I currently live in an apartment. I have about $2000 I can pay towards something right now. If I used the "full" loan amount from Tower Federal, I could grab another $2000 with the 10% APR on it.. but why would I do that?
