Open Question: Pricing Estimate For Paint Job?
I have got a 1992 Civic hatchback I need to paint. White is relatively cheap paint, and that would be fine for me. I am doing all the body work myself, bondo-ing, wetsanding, priming, and sanding down. Not worried about painting door jams, engine bay etc, just doing all that in black rustoelum. I know its going to be about a grand to take my car in and get a decent paint job on it. Just looking for some other opinions to see if Im in the ballpark. No Maaco jobs, taking it in to get a good professional spray down. Thanks!

Alright so my dad had my house built in 1992. I'm sixteen, but when I was around eight I vividly remember seeing a shadow person...distinctly. I was vacuuming the "back portion" of the house (where absolutely nobody goes) and down the hallway is the back suite. It is a long hallway, and the suite is completely pitch black. Anyways, I was vacuuming, but keeping an eye on the suite because I was shit scared for some reason (I've always been scared of that back suite, even today, it always felt kind of eery for some reason). Anyways I saw this sort-of blob that seemed darker than the blackness of the room. I stared at it, immensely, curious yet still frightened. I saw it stand up and dart across the room into the wall. It was very tall and slender. Anyways, that night I was sleeping and I turned and open my eyes, it was standing over me...as soon as I noticed it it darted into the wall again.
Anyways my entire childhood I had been scared to go to sleep. Literally I would cry, sweat, and toss and turn the entire night, making sure I did NOT fall asleep. Even before this incident I had troubles, now I'm considering the possibility of it being some sort of anxiety disorder.
Anyways, not to mention one night I was sleeping in my parents room with my brother. My parents were watching TV and my brother was a sleep. I started hearing dark, whispery, chanting-like voices from a dark corner in the far corner. Me, being seven, ran out crying as FAST as I possibly could to my mom.
I go to bed often as late as 1AM, and as I walk from my family room to my bedroom, I pass the living room filled with antique furniture (Louis XVI furniture, eighteenth century grand piano, etc, etc), and I am positive that something is watching me as I walk down the hallway. Its pitch black and I force myself to almost act brave and un afraid of what it is.
I slept in the same room as my mom on and off again until I was twelve, where I forced myself to sleep on my own. Time and time again I feel scared or anxious to fall asleep.
I do often see black shadowy figures dart across roads and what not when I'm walking home from a friends house, usually at late at night. When I was twelve our family got an American Eskimo, and since then I have ceased to see anything of the sort in my house..but I can often sense them in the absence of my dog.
Nobody has died in our house, so I don't understand how something like this could occur. Any input would be great! I do realized I rambled on, sorry for that :)

I have an old work beater 1992 Pontiac Grand Prix LE
About a year ago the Overdrive started acting up as in whenever I came to a stop it would not re-engage into gear without shifting into neutral first. The Transmission specialists here in town had it for a whole day and said that my only two options were rebuilding the transmission or stop using overdrive.
The car is not worth rebuilding, so I stopped using Overdrive and now drive in the Drive gear instead. Everything was just fine until today.
Today I noticed that the car was taking extremely long to shift out of first gear and rides at 4000+ rpm for a bit before shifting. I also realized that on an obvious downhill that I always gain speed on and have to ride the brakes, I was losing speed without touching the brakes. I had my wife tail me and watch to make sure my brake lights did not come on while I was not pressing them and the pressure in the pedal feels absolutely normal.
I am quite handy with the car and have changed the tranny fluid and filter about 8 months ago. Just got the oil changed and fluids checked today after seeing the problem. I always take it in early for oil changes and try to maintain the car as best as I can.
For a while lately I have had to let the car warm up for about 5 minutes before it will engage into gear, but it has been awfully cold here lately. I live in Northern Indiana.
It is just a work beater, and I WILL NOT TAKE IT TO THE MECHANIC WITHOUT TRYING MYSELF. The car probably would not sell for $800 but it's worth a lot more to me. Any Ideas would be appreciated.

Kevin Ives and Don Henry: Died August 1987. Reportedly, they had stumbled upon the Arkansas Mena Drug Operation (many stories and articles have been written about Clinton's affiliation with the Mena Mafia) It was first reported that these two young boys died as a result of falling asleep on a railroad track. It was later revealed that Ives had received a crushed skull prior to being placed on the tracks and Henry had been stabbed to death. The following 7 deaths were all of people who reportedly had knowledge and information concerning the mysterious, unsolved murders of Kevin Ives and Don Henry:
Keith Coney:died July 1988 from injuries sustained from a motorcycle accident. Some reports indicated that he was being chased by an unidentified vehicle.
Keith McKaskle: died Nov. 1988 from multiple stab wounds
Greg Collins: died Jan. 1989 from a gunshot wound to the head. No suspect was ever found.

Jordan Kettleson: died June 1990. He died from gunshot wounds and was found sitting in his truck.
Suzanne Coleman: died when Clinton served as Arkansas Attorney General. She was alleged to have been "romantically" involved with Clinton. Although she died from a gunshot to the back of her head, the death was ruled a suicide! She was pregnant at the time of her death.
Alan Sandorf:died 1991. Sandorf was an employee of NSA (National Security Agency). He was reportedly providing info. to Danny Casolaro, who was an independent reporter investigating the INSLAW case (INSLAW involved Justice Dept. theft, cover-ups, missing records, fraud and gov. corruption of all sorts) Sandorf's body was found in the back seat of a car at the Washington National Airport.
Dennis Eisman: shot to death in 1991. Eisman was an attorney, who was also working on the INSLAW case.
Danny Casolaro: found dead in a Virginia motel room in 1992. His arms had been slashed multiple times. Casolaro was an independent investigative reporter who had extensive files and information on the INSLAW case against the Justice Dept. and other "high ranking" government officials. Even though his body was found, his files and documentations were said to have never been located!
Victor Raiser II: died in 1992 from an unexplained airplane crash. He was co-chairman of the "Clinton for President" campaign. Montgomery Raiser, his son, also involved with the Clinton campaign was killed in the plane crash with his father and 5 other people.
Ian Spiro: died in 1992. His wife and 3 children were found murdered in their home. They had been shot to death (execution style) Several days later Spiro's body was found in the Borego Desert. His autopsy revealed the cause of death as cyanide poisoning. He held files and evidence to produce before a grand jury in the INSLAW proceedings.
Paul Tully: died 1992 from unknown causes. His body was found in a motel room in Little Rock Arkansas. He was supposedly one of Clinton's closest friends, and served as the National Democratic Committee Chairman.
Jim Wilhite: died 1992 in a one person skiing accident. Wilhite had close ties to Clinton and was a former associate of Mack Mclarty (long time friend and counselor of Bill Clinton)
Paula Gober: died 1992 from an unwitnessed one car accident. She traveled with Clinton and was his speech interpreter for the deaf for 4 years.
Paul Wilcher: died 1993 from an "undetermined cause". I would love to know why Philippine Long Distance (PLDT) (NYSE: PHI) (PSE: TEL) is allowed to list on the NYSE and even recommended by 2008 Wall Street Journal's Smart Money magazine which failed basic due diligence as the Chairman of PLDT has not been on the Wharton Board of Overseers for years which was a major selling point for many people. It seems that this Manuel Pangilinan and the Salim Group (beneficial owners of PLDT) should be checked out and suspended from the NYSE?
Philippine Stock Exchange, Inc. ("PSE" or the "Exchange") is a private organization that provides and ensures a fair, efficient, transparent and orderly market for the buying and selling of securities.
PSE traces its roots from the country's two former bourses: the Manila Stock Exchange ("MSE") and the Makati Stock Exchange ("MkSE"). Starbucks was started in 1971 by three academicians in Seattle. Ten years later, Howard
Schultz joined the company. During his trip to Italy, he realized that the coffee house

reflecting the local community, having high standards for coffee, being a good member

PHARR/HIDALGO | COCAINE BUSTS
PHARR/HIDALGO -- Customs and Border Protection officers in Hidalgo County seized close to 80 pounds of cocaine after three unrelated coke busts last week.
The drugs had an estimated street value of $2,425,000.
The first bust occured when man tried to smuggle 20 pounds of cocaine through the Pharr-Reynosa International Bridge on Dec. 5. Jose Ernesto Arroyo-Davila, a Mexican citizen from Rio Bravo, Tamps. was driving a 1992 Buick Skylark when a narcotic detector dog sniffed out seven packages of the drug hidden inside a secret compartment within the vehicle. Arroyo-Davila, 25, was arrested.
Two days later officers arrested two men during a seizure at the Hidalgo-Reynosa International Bridge. Rafael Navarro-Falcon, 22, a Mexican citizen from Hillsboro, Oregon, was driving a 2003 Chevrolet Avalanche when officers searched the vehicle and found 19 packages holding 47 pounds of cocaine inside the vehicle's firewall. Navarro-Falcon and passenger Rudy A. Perez-Samayoa, 49, a Guatemalan citizen from Portland, Oregon, were arrested.
On Monday, CBP officers found nearly 13 pounds of cocaine inside a northbound 1995 Pontiac Grand Prix at the Pharr-Reynosa International Bridge. The driver, Pablo Antonio Garcia-Ortiz, 19, a Mexican citizen from Reynosa, was arrested on federal drug charges.
The four men remain in custody of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement. All but Garcia-Ortiz have appeared before a U.S. magistrate. The vehicles and the cocaine were seized by CBP.

So it begins in about 1988 where my Parents bought a house. After marriage. (they are from china) my dad came from a rich family and used his mother's money and my mom's money to buy the house. The deal was my dad has 1/3 his brother has 1/3 and his sister has 1/3. So all was horrible because my dad is bad tempered and really pissed (better now) and he didn't get along well. So my older sister was born in 1989 and my dad did not try to get a job since he has a nice house CASHED out and just took care of her. (he can't cook xD) My mom had to work at nights.. So about 1992, My evil grandparents (dad side!), aunt and uncle cam for a visit. Then went back to china. 1993 my sister was born and the visited again and left again. About 1 year later they sold all they had in china (company too) to come here. I was born 1996 and they had came here for a while. So they acted all nice and friendly then and took care of us (not really) and they went out every day. They never payed a single bill until they kicked us out. So skip to 1999. At 1999 my mom begged for his brother (good one) to give money to make them completely a citizen, the green card or w.e. My mom never had much money until my dad started working so she couldn't pay the cost of the green card. My uncle said fine, this way they could literally knock themselves out doing whatever a real citizen can do. At June 2, 2000 they became LEGAL CITIZENS. They continued to act all nice for about 6 months. They didn't pay the bills because my mom was really happy, thinking this could work as a real family so she payed every single expense that they were suppose to pay there share of. At Mid-end 2001 my aunt came for a visit. We fed them and did everything we could making this a special moment. all those expensive food too like lobster shark fin some other chinese expensive food. Guess what is was for "unexpectedly". At Like september 2001 my uncle found a lawyer to do this at Cambridge, Ma. September 2001, 1/3 of the share was given to _____ (uncle). They never notified us and payed the property tax after. So skip to 2003-2005 on of those. My mom looked at the mail it read, " ____ 2/3. ____ (my dad) 1/3 of the house. My mom was furious and thought this was a mistake and went to Melrose city hall. Melrose city hall said we don't do this but i will show you the history. 2001 Cambridge, MA uncle changed to 2/3 of house yadayada about my dad and other crap. My mom was so pissed and told my dad. He had no clue what happened. So my mom started being like less friendly not cooking EVERY SINGLE DINNER GIVING EVERY SINGLE TEENCY REQUEST ABOUT THE FOOD MY DAMN UNCLE/GRANDMA GAVE. then it started to turn out bad. at 2006 i think it was my dad's birthday and the most important single holiday for the Chinese. 8/15 on the old calender and dad's birthday new calender. We had came back from Canada and used the green chopsticks (meaning use that chopstick to grab food then use your own chopstick to eat ). So we did that and this was like the first family dinner we had with my grand father. So my grandma thought my mom set this up to tell me older sister to use the green chopsticks because its my grandfather not family. (we just did that because my sister thought it'd be f-ing cool, [stupid & retarded right]? So at 9:00 they started going. My mom had left for work and my dad was home. They literally barked at each other for 2 hours. (there was another time where my dad threw away my dam uncle's newspaper and got another fight. (fights are yelling not fist and we were called pooc gai.[very offensive in chinese]) So skip a year. I got my glasses and called my grandma to cook dinner for herself at like 8:00. She hung up on us, ( i dont know the real story like if she was mad already or just thought we were strangers ) So since it was late we decided to go out and eat. when we came home MY grandma was yelling like hell broke loose. SHE SAID HAM GA CHAN [ also offensive it means a whole family dies directly at your family ]. AND ALSO TOLD US TO GET OUT OF THIS HOUSE YOU 1/3ER. so guess what we did? we moved like 2 months later taking rent at my aunt's upstairs. My dad won't go back to the house and i doubt he will want to do family talk.

For some reason she didWe have no way to get a new house because we can't get a loan probably and if we do my mom won't have enough money to pay it.Alright i got a f-ing box. Nah thats to low for me , ill actually fight for a living, Maybe. I do good in school and everything, athletic that would be a shame.OH YEA SINCE MY DAD OWNS 1/3 WE CANT GET GOVERNMENT HELP FOR ANY TYPE OF PROPERTY. I usually get depressed now and then but this time it really hurts. I watched the movie 3 ninjas (It is about three young brothers and messes that they get into.) I really took joy into watching the movie but it was released in 1992-1995. I became depressed because it revealed to me how short life is and how small we are in the grand scale of things. I really have no one to talk to about this because it is kind of weird becoming depressed from a children movie. I know this is not normal, I just want someone to reflect their opinion on this.

I have a 1992 Mercury Grand Marquis. It was parked for about a week while I recovered from back surgery. I got in it on Friday and started driving. I noticed a rough Idle when I put it in to drive. As I drove on it turned it to a serious shudder when my engine was reaching RPM and about to shift. Once it shifts it is not as rough until the RPM are higher, then it shudders more. This is a serious shudder, shaking the whole car. I have changed the plugs, checked my u joints and they look fine, transmission fluid looks fine, and I am just out of guesses. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated

I was wondering... I can buy a 1992 dodge Dakota short box single cab with a 5.2 318 magnum for about a grand. it has open headers ran on 3" exhaust. Its supposed to run 14.8. Would it be cheaper to drop a bigger motor in it, or cheaper to put in a true posi, and get get 4-5-6 gears? And which would be a better value as far as speed goes.

1992 Nissan Skyline GTR and apparently dyno'd at 418hp. I am going to school and I am currently in a 3 year technical mechanics program. So I thought this could be a good project to work on. My previous car was a 2001 Honda Civic which had 302bhp, but I couldn't get it to output any more power then that without spending over 5 grand.

It's a 2 door car and the headlights flip up.I'm not sure on the year but I know it's between 1992 and 1996.I've searched the net and can't find an image of a grand prix that has flip up headlights.It has a sunroof also.
