Voting Question: does anyone have any advice about my money guzzling truck?

It's a 1999 ford F150. we have many problems with the vehicle, none of which seem to be reconcilable. we did not buy it new, it had over 100,000 miles which is why it supposedly came without a warranty, later to find out....Rust, we paid over 2200 dollars within the first 3 months to have under the truck replaced and some pieces powder coated through our dealers mechanic. Than a recall for cruise control, was fixed by ford dealer. The fuel injector leaks and recently the gas tank brackets rusted through and was not detached but dragged under the truck. The dealer we bought it from is now deceased and the dealership no longer exists. we have not owned this truck for more than 2 years yet. Also we paid a little over 300 dollars to have a spark plug put back in after it blew out of the head. the truck is blue booked at 1500 dollars and we are currently paying 3 times that, plus all the repairs. any help would be appreciated because we don't have the money to keep fixing and we can't in good conscience sell it . In the next 5 months i would like to purchase myself a Roush F150. The only place i can find them is on Ebay though. I live in WI by the way. If i am not able to find one I would like to buy the regular F150 and make it a Roush look a like. I got an adapter connector from Walmart like i did with the dodge shadow i use to have this in. anyway i solder my connection together and turn it on. I get the red off illumination if you will and when i press my power button i do not get a blue illumination nor does it turn on.. Please does anyone have any thoughts? more

Resolved Question: HID headlight question/ problems?

I have a 2001 Ford F150 and i recently got HID headlights and fog light and im having some problems with them. 1) when i turn my lights on I lose my FM radio stations but the CD and cassette player works fine. the stations come in in static. 2) ive noticed that my highbeams and lowbeams seem reversed. The kit i bought is very simple and easy to install.... its all plug in wires. 3) Ive only had them for about a month and they already seem like they've dimmed. when i first installed them they almost had a blue tint and were bright as hell....but now the headlights are not as bright and the fogs look almost like the stock lights. 4) and my final problem is that when i turn my headlights to always on they shutoff in about a minute. please note this wasnt a cheap kit that i bought from autozone or something. i ordered them from Future Vision HID and dropped about 400 on them. i have ballasts for each bulb and a relay for only the haedlights. Any help on these questions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks. more

CHAPTER 1 “Stephen Luke Hudinburg” the loud speaker blasted “They always get that wrong it is Hugh-duh-burgh is that so hard to say Hugh-duh-burgh gah” I thought as I went to go get my diploma. The whole class of ‘10 watched me, waiting for me to trip, fall or something. But I didn’t. I just walked across the stage of the auditorium got my diploma shook Mr. White’s old wrinkly hand as the memories of the last four years came rushing back to me. From the day I first asked out my girlfriend of 3.5 years. To all of our memories together, like spring break of our senior year and how I had planned on asking her to marry me but couldn’t get it out. The long late night talks on the phone solving problems. Remembering how just her touch or the gaze from her beautiful blue eyes could heal the deepest wounds. Next come all of the drama memories, family memories like how for my 17th birthday everyone pitched in and got me a 2007 Black Ford F150 duel cab truck that I always wanted. As I sat in my seat listing to all of my other classmates get called and then I heard my loves name through the loud speaker “Savannah Grace Scott” and I saw her get up and walk to the stage, take her diploma from Mr. White’s hand and simultaneously wink me. I knew long before this day that I would marry the girl that just got her diploma and that we would live happy lives together. “And that concludes our graduation ceremony. Drinks and refreshments are in the cafeteria and once again, CONGRATULATIONS TO THE CLASS OF 2010!” Mr. White said into the microphone. The truck is a 2001 Ford F150 Super Cab Short Bed 4D that they are selling for 3,800 it has alot of miles on it 205,000, and the guy said he had a fender bender in it and the air bags came out and need to be put back in. Voting Question: What should I pay for a 2006 Ford F150 SuperCrew King Ranch with 36,792 miles from a dealer?

They have it listed for $21,495 stating that the Kelly Blue Book value is $26,700. At this rate, the trade in value of the vehicle if it were in Perfect condition would be $19,245. What would you offer? I've heard of going in and stating that they've got 15 minutes to get to certain price and getting it over with. Any suggestions? Voting Question: How much will an accident affect what my truck is worth?

I wrecked my 2003 Ford F150 XLT Supercrew FX4 a few years ago. It had apprx. $7,000 worth of damage with minor frame damage. The truck did not get totalled and I had it repaired at a Ford dealership, and the frame was completely restored to Ford factory specs. I have since driven the truck 80,000 miles, and I am considering selling it private party. The truck is in very good cosmetic shape, and I have kept very good care of it. Kelly Blue Book states it is worth $10,375 in good condition and $9,575 in fair condition. How much will this accident affect what I can get for the truck? Thanks in advance. more

Resolved Question: Transmission Not Shifting?

Recently went to pull one of my friends out of the mud with my ford f150, i got stuck, had water an inch from coming in through my doors (water was touching the rockers). Left the truck over night, got pulled out by a full size loader. The truck refuses to shift into any gear higher than first, it makes the attempt to shift at about 6500 rpms and then slams the truck forward but remains in first. At about 3000 rpms the truck shifts out of any gear and will regain movement again at 3000 rpms. I checked the dipstick there are little bubbles on it im guessing i got water in through the breather tube...One of my friends mentioned the solenoids but I don't know. Any USEFULL help would be appreciated (No saying "your problem is the blue oval on the grille"). I am going to flush the transmission but I doubt it will help. Thanks! more

Charred papers were located on the seat and floor of the passenger side area. A canvass of the area was completed and no witnesses were located. No suspicious people were observed by RO while patrolling his area. The vehicle was towed to ABC Towing's lot for evidence processing. Date Reported 09/19/2005, and vehicle blue 2000 Honda 4doors Accord License#X256J. narrative 2. On 9/15/2005 at 0200, a witness reported a vehicle on fire on the street in front of 123 Main Street. Upon arrival, Reporting Officer was notified by the fire department that the passenger side window had been smashed with an unknown object and papers were set on fire on the passenger seat. The fire spread throughout the interior compartment of the vehicle causing massive fire and smoke damage. A canvas of the area was done and no witnesses were located. The vehicle was towed to ABC Towing for processing by an evidence technician. Nothing of evidentiary value was located around the exterior of the vehicle. The point of origin appeared to be the passenger's side seat, as the window was broke out and there were charred papers on the floor and on the seat. Substantial fire damage occurred. A witness was on the scene and said he saw a Male/White around a the vehicle but didn't notice much more than that. He gave the description of a Male/White approximately 6'0" 200 pounds, last seen wearing blue jeans, a brown jacket with a gray hooded sweatshirt. It was unknown which direction of travel he left in, as the witness had just glanced out his front window when he saw the person near the vehicle. It was about 10 minutes later when he noticed the vehicle on fire and phoned 911. No physical evidence was located outside the vehicle, and the vehicle was towed to ABC Towing's lot for processing by an evidence techician. Date Reported 09/30/05, and vehicle red 2002 Mercury 2doors Cougar License#12345. narrative 4. On 10/2/2005 at 1805, Reporting Officer was dispatched to 1410 Locust Street for a vehicle fire. Upon arrival, the victim Jose Flores, explained that an unknown person set a fire in the back of the pickup truck parked at 1410 Locust. He last saw his vehicle in good condition at 1730 hours and he did not see anyone around the vehicle or premises. He had no idea who would have started the fire, but did say he was having domestic trouble with a former girlfriend. RO obtained her information and it's captioned above as "O" for "other" for possible follow-up. The fire department was already on scene upon officer's arrival. RO was advised by the fire department that the passenger side window was broken and contents from inside the vehicle were heaped onto the passenger seat and set on fire. Substantial damage had occurred. A canvass of the area was completed and no witnesses were located. The vehicle was towed to ABC Towing's lot for evidence processing. Date Reported 10/3/05, and vehicle blue 2000 Pontiac 2doors Sunfire License#AB1255. narrative 6. On 10/8/2005 at 0215, Reporting Officer was dispatched to a vehicle in front of 302 Main Street. I currently have a 2001 ford ranger which I have worn down since I bought when I was 15 (now 20). I am having trouble deciding between a 2005 ford explorer sport track and a 2004 f150 lariat. My friends dad is selling the sport track and my mom's friend is selling the F-150. Both of them are giving me a great deal (below blue book). I am 6'3'' and want a bigger truck, but don't want to pay for the gas on a v8. Any suggestions would be welcome. Resolved Question: Trading an F150 for a Hummer H2 SUT?

I have a lifted 2004 Ford F-150 brand new $2000 tires and very nice $2000 rims...and the truck is lifted about 6 inches. Everyone admires the truck..but now I want a Hummer SUT (truck style). I heard the gas mileage is the same. But at the dealership they only want to give me $6500 for my truck...(kelly blue book is 15000) and they said next year it will be worth 2000 cause no one wants big cars anymore cause of gas...but I still owe 21000 on my truck...what should I do. And don't tell me to get some small car...that's not an option. Just give suggestions as to how I can spend the least and have a Hummer sut? auctions? Oh and I plan on buying a used Hummer maybe 2006-7 not new. Thanks more

Resolved Question: Ford 4.2 engine skipping bad when cold?

My 1997 ford f150 runs very rough at start up ( skips and shakes) After it warms up it gets better but it is still there especially when you floor the throttle. I`ve installed new motorcraft pugs and gapped them properly, new wires , new coil pack, new air filter , checked vacume lines for leaks. the ckeck engine code always comes up # 6 cylinder misfire. This problem started all of a sudden 2-3 weeks ago out of the blue. the warmer it is out the better it runs. more

Ok im working on a 97 f150 I wanna keep the factory radio so I got a line output converter. The truck has a cd changer I bought a aftermarket harness to know wich wires I need to use (wire colors) but the harness dont match . Theres 2 harness that plugs into the factory radio one is long and it has the 12v power ground constant power and the other one is short square that has I think 14 wire I know this are speaker wires but dont know wich ones I got his wire colors Yellow black blue/black blue/red (maybe orange) green green/red green/black white/orange white/red orange/black purple gray brown tan maybe a miss a couple of them can someone tell me where to plug in the line output converter All I need is 4 f ing wires please help. more

Resolved Question: 1992 F150 Ford Truck Will Not Start?

It's 8 Cylinder, was given to me a year ago and had sat in a yard for several years. I had to have a rebuilt transmission put in and alternator right after I got it. Recently it has been acting up, like once in awhile no matter how hard you press on the gas pedal, it will not accelerate ( so when it did this I had to shift to 2nd gear ( automatic transmission) But it only did this once in a blue moon. Now it sounds like it wants to start, in fact starts for a second but then just won't. The spark plugs haven't been changed in years. The battery is about a year old ( radio comes on, lights full force, etc.) The fuel filter was changed also after I got the truck because there was probably water in the gas line? Question can it be battery is too weak, can it be spark plugs, is it something in the fuel line and if so how do you get it out? I have a background in computers but as you can tell I am not bright when it comes to cars. I haven't tried to jump the truck off yet. more

standard cab, xl, 4.2 Liter v 6 engine I've tried the online blue books and have called several salvage yards for their price, checked older classifieds, are there any other suggestions?I have compared it with similiar cars, the dilemna is that I only found one other car of the same make/model with a bad engine that had a "sold" price. It was in another state. Most of the other cars for sale are in decent condition. The online blue books don't evaluate the price of cars that need new engines.
